| The Loyal Orange Institution
of the United States of America is a Christian and protestant
fraternity. Male citizens and legal permanent residents of the
United States are eligible for membership. The Institution is
also known as the Orange Order, the Orange Fraternity or, often,
simply as the Orange. However, the Institution is the corporate
body constituting the whole structure of the Order including
local and state lodges. The Loyal Orange Institution is incorporated
in the State of Delaware. The acronym LOI is frequently used
when referring to the Loyal Orange Institution. Membership requires
high standards of character and religious commitment as indicated
in the Declaration of Principles of Orangeism and the Qualifications
for Membership to which all candidates for membership must subscribe. |
